Common questions about online giving

  1. Who provides online giving services for Redeemer Lutheran Church?
    Vanco Payment Solutions is the exclusive online giving service provider for Redeemer Lutheran Church. All online gifts are processed through Vanco.

  2. How do automated contributions work?
    You select a payment method, start date, frequency and contribution amount. On the scheduled date(s), donations will be processed and deposited into the church bank account.

  3. When will my contributions be processed?
    Your contributions will be processed on the date(s) you authorize.

  4. What can I use to show I made a donation?
    The itemized list of electronic transactions that appear on your bank or credit card statement can be used as proof of your donations.

  5. Will I receive a receipt?
    Yes. You will receive a receipt via email, and you will also be able to view transactions in your giving history. Guest donors will receive a receipt if they choose to enter their email address when completing a donation.

  6. How can I participate in the offering during service?
    Either write “I give electronically” on the outside of an envelope or contact the church office and request an “I Give Electronically” card to drop into the offering plate.

  7. How safe is electronic giving?
    Vanco Payment Solutions meets or exceeds all industry standards to safeguard your data. To help ensure your data stays safe, Vanco leverages technology such as tokenizing card data and encrypting sensitive information for transmission and storage.

  8. Can I cancel or place a hold on my donation?
    You can cancel or suspend donations by notifying the church or by going online and signing into your account.

  9. I made a mistake and donated the wrong amount. How can I get a refund?
    Contact the church office and they will be able to credit the amount donated in error back to your account – just like when you return an item you bought at a store or online.

  10. What payment methods can I use to donate?
    Donations can be made with all major debit/credit cards currently accepted by your church. You can also give or pay using your checking or savings account.

HOW TO:
Set up a new profile

Please follow these instructions to create a user profile with Vanco. Note that setting up a user profile with Vanco does not initiate an offering. Making your gift is a separate process.

  1. Visit the Vanco giving portal by clicking or tapping here.

  2. Click the “Create Profile” button in the lower right corner of the page.

  3. Follow the prompts to create an online account with Vanco

Your online profile with Vanco is now activated. You should receive an email directly from Vanco confirming the account creation.

 

HOW TO:
Make a regular offering

Please follow these instructions to make your regular offering through the Vanco online giving portal.

  1. Visit the Vanco giving portal by clicking or tapping here.

  2. Log in using your user profile name and password. If you do not yet have one, please create one using the instructions above.

  3. Add a new, recurring transaction following the prompts on the page.

Your online giving is now activated. You should receive an email directly from Vanco confirming the new transaction

 

HOW TO:
Update a regular offering

Please follow these instructions to make changes to an existing regular offering through the Vanco online giving portal.

  1. Visit the Vanco giving portal by clicking or tapping here.

  2. Log in using your user profile name and password.

  3. Click the “Edit” link in the row corresponding to the scheduled transaction you wish to change

  4. Make appropriate changes to the scheduled transaction

Your online giving is now updated. You should receive an email directly from Vanco confirming the updated transaction.
